Introducing the basics of money management to young women | MIRR Investments

The domain of financial planning has long been considered a field mastered by men. This can be attributed to the lack of financial awareness and confidence among the female population.

In an effort to educate young women about the basics of money management, MIRR partnered with Vini Aggarwal, founder of Crux Public Relations. Vini also runs a community page called ‘Dilli Ki Ladkiyan’ on Facebook and Instagram which holds a substantial audience of young college-going girls.

Following the successful response received from a financial awareness talk held at Crux office pre-Covid, Namrata B Durgan, founder of MIRR Investments, was invited to a Live Talk over Vini’s community page. The session hosted on May 03, 2020 was joined by college-going girls, where they learned about money management basics and the importance of saving and investing.

To help the audience better understand the concept of money management, MIRR discussed the idea of a goal-oriented investment strategy. The girls were encouraged to develop the habit of investing at an early age regardless of the amount.

Several studies revealing that women are good investors were discussed to shed preconceived notions regarding the investment behaviour of women. The candid conversations also helped in breaking the usual stereotypes such as men being better investors than women.

The interactive session was successful in familiarizing young women with the world of money management. It also educated them on the challenges as well as the resources available to help them secure their financial future.
